I freaking LOVE this place. The food is amazing! All the bread is bakes on site. I haven't had anything that wasn't wonderful. Although the lasagna is pretty incredible.

I've been here numerous times I do like their Italian sausage spaghetti and for some reason it feels like a mob place where they comes and hangs out here but I've never seen any mob bosses but they have the rooms for it. The cleanly Ness is what you expect from a moms and pops shop. Food is average, average services, just average.

We eat here often and every time the food has been great! We always go during their lunch time special, which runs until 2 pm weekdays. For $8.99 you will get a large salad with homemade dressing, homemade bread and a choice of a full size pasta entree. There is limited waitstaff and the wait times can run a little on the long side. The owners are both there working everyday , the Mr. cooks and the Mrs. waits tables. I highly recommend this place to anyone that enjoys authentic Italian food. Just some F.Y.I. they are closed on Mondays and close at 2 pm on Sundays.

A quiet spot-unassuming atmosphere. I had the lasagne which was fantastic! Enjoyed dinner with friends who had a patient at the nearby SW Medical center.

The lunch special is an excellent deal. For $8.99, inclusive of tax, I received a huge piece of lasagna (made to order in an individual vessel with tons of bubbling cheese and crispy edges), a hearty salad loaded with parmesan cheese and Bella Vista's Italian dressing, and bread with butter. The salad and bread could be a (light) meal on their own! As for service, I heard another customer complain about her meal, and the owner(?) came out and replaced it immediately with something new. The owner explained that they use seasonal ingredients so the items might taste different each time. I would come back more often, but it's a bit out of the way for me. I also understand that they are closed for a significant portion of the summer because the family goes back to Italy each year.

Excellent food!! We were looking for some Italian food, came across this restaurant on yelp, went there to order. Nothing fancy, lady who took our order was very nice I just think she sold me more than I needed, that's her job I suppose. Meat balls and spaghetti were excellent. Ziti was excellent! Definitely worth returning.

  • Rodney S.

Fresh and delicious. The portion sizes are huge and the food is fantastic. We were a party of 5 and all five meals were delicious. The homemade bread was excellent too. What a great find!

  • Megan S.

What a surprise! We weren't quite sure whether to believe the Yelp reviews when we pulled up and saw the exterior appearance. While the decor inside isn't extravagant, the traditional Italian music and homemade, authentic recipes make this place a diamond in the rough! It would've been a 5 star but we had to wait about 20 min to get our drinks (all waters for a party of 5). Once we ordered it wasn't long for our piping hot, delicious meals were served. Try the Greek salad, it's amazing! And the chicken Marsala was pretty great too.

  • Traylor R.

This place is great! Everything is homemade and authentic. I had the lasagna and was very impressed. Very large portions...I split the entree and was still stuffed. Excellent service too!

    (5)
  • David H.

Did I eat chicken marsala, or just drink reduced red wine sauce? While the portions were generous, both the sheer amount of sauce and its sweetness compromised my experience and left me unable to finish my lunch.

Closed for the summer = me a very sad boy. This is my most favorite Italian place in OKC! The owner there is also the lead cook, and although she's scary, she's also very nice and knows how to make good food. I have been here about a dozen times now, and I still can't get enough of it. I literally have no cons to say about this place, other than that they need more parking and publicity, so that they don't have to close every summer! It's unbelievable that this place doesn't get enough business during the summer; it just boggles my mind. Things I have ordered and will definitely recommend: Gyro platter - a nice sample of all the good appetizers Spaghetti/ravioli and meatballs - the meatballs are huge and moist all-throughout, and don't even get me started on that sauce Chicken alfredo - you haven't had alfredo this creamy and savory, I bet my life on it Greek pizza - their best pizza in my opinion, which blends their Greek salad with the awesomeness of pizza Catchatorie - only for the bold, as it's packed with so many veggies and meats, that you'll save just the sauce for later to have it with bread or more noodles Baklava - they don't always have it in stock, so I always ask for it. Oh and ask for it when you first sit down so that the owner takes it out of the fridge to get it to room temp Sure the free bread isn't spectacular, but they will give you free marina sauce to dip in if you ask. Their marinara sauce is so chunky and flavorful, you'd be crazy to not get it. Some reviewers like Michael M. just don't know what good Italian is. I honestly can't trust a food review that thinks Ragu + any pasta is a good meal. I don't wanna talk crap about other reviewers, but you can't honestly review a place after just one visit. I only review things after multiple visits. He may have an elite yelp sticker, but anybody that says Fontana's has better Italian food than Bella Vista must have a poor food palette. Just like my 9 year old nephew who prefers plain Ragu pasta, or even boiled hotdogs over high-yelp rated restaurants. Please don't be turned off by Bella Vista's exterior, or even interior (I actually think it's quaint). The wait times may be long, and the service lackluster on some days, but you must consider this restaurant doesn't get a lot of business. Plus, they only take long because they are making the food properly. Try this place out when it opens back up for Fall in September. The prices definitely fit the portions, so order only one dish for every two-three people.

This is the BEST Italian Food in OKC. The women who run the place are authentic, and the service is always superb! The marinara sauce is great. The fettuccine is good, and is served with nutmeg as a garnish. The lasagna is MELT IN YOUR MOUTH cheesy excellence in a dish. The servers are always so sweet to my kids! And the desserts are awesome too! If you are considering this place...consider no longer. GO. TRY. IT. NOW.

The best and most authentic Italian I've ever had. I travel a lot and fell upon this place via yelp. The table shared the huge pasta dishes. I got to try 5. They were all amazing. And the owners are very nice. Only Budweiser to drink but she said they are working on getting authentic wine back in. MUST TRY

Yikes not sure what people experienced here that I didn't. Not one thing about this place makes me want to come back a second time. Not sure if I should start with the service or the food. Neither were anything that would bring me back. You ask why two stars then. I will give them a small benefit of the doubt being we went on a holiday otherwise this place is almost a 1st star. Went in about 7. Only to find out that if we didn't have a reservation they weren't going to be seated. We got this news kind of rudely from what I think was the owner. Then we walked outside and I decided to give a call and ask about reservations. They said they could set us at 8. Strange but okay I can burn an hour. After we burned an hour we went back. Once we were seated. It took 25 minutes before we were asked what we would like to drink. Yes 25 minutes before anyone even said a word to us. Another 10 minutes before our order was taken. Crazy....but I had heard such good stuff about this place. Now I was praying it was all true. So service was AWFUL. On to the food. Save your MONEY. Really go get some ragu, sprinkle in some oregano and other spices. Pour over preferred pasta, and bingo you just might have better food than I had while I was here. Is it that bad you say, well it just wasn't that good. I can easily mimic what I tasted with the sauce here. The pasta here was nothing to brag about either. I was looking forward to great Italian food and got nothing close to that. My dining companion even speculated that some of the food didn't seem homemade. Even wondering if it was prepackaged from a place like U.S foods or something. Let's skip back for a second. We ordered some garlic cheese bread. Really i think most people could duplicate this with out any effort. Also ordered the Baci - stuffed shrimp - This was easily the highlight of the whole meal. We both had the house salad. Yet another item my 12 year old niece could have made. Next up my chicken parm and their ravioli with meat balls. I enjoyed the chicken but not much else from mine. I got to taste the ravioli and the meat balls. Ravioli was okay at best and the meat ball was pretty good. Only thing that the food had going for it were the portion size, quite large. On the overall this meal was average at best. I can think of several other places within a 15 minute drive that I would rather have. Spending 50 bucks for this meal and service is just insane if you do it more than once. I guess it is easy to tell that i won't be back. As well I wont be recommending this place to anyone else. Before entering i was wondering what took me so long to try this place. Now i am wishing that i would have waited a bit longer or maybe never got a chance. My final advice go else where, heck even go home it wont be hard to get a better meal, better service somewhere else.

This place is very unassuming. You wouldn't think driving by this place that this place contains the best Italian food in Oklahoma. Amazing hole in the wall join that is family owned and operated The food is amazing! The portions can easily feed 3 people with 1 plate. The garlic bread is a must for an appetizer. So cheesy and crispy yet soft bread with buttery garlic goodness. Any pasta dish will have huge portions. Chicken Marsala is a winner. The calzones are huge!! A small size calzone is about the size of a football stuffed with toppings and cheese. A large is about the size of a pillow. It's crazy. The prices are really good too This place is authentic as it gets for Italian and Greek food. The old lady will hand peel garlic cloves in the corner just like how the did in the olden days. I love this place 5 stars for sure!

  • Bella B.

I was invited here by my boyfriend who said he had been here with family and had a great experience. I checked yelp and was happy to give it a try. What can I say, my bf and yelp were right! I love this place. I've tried the lasagna and their ravioli and the cannoli all were awesome. Never had a bad meal here and the staff are like family. Friendly and everything is handmade in-house so you know it's fresh. The desserts are really tasty as well. My overall experience with Bella Vista has been 5 stars and the portions are really enough to fill up on and take home for lunch the next day. And everyone knows pasta tastes better the next day lol. I can't wait to go back here, I've been here three times so far. 5 stars for sure. Give me a try.

Is delicious but you are definitely going to wait for your food. This place is busy and the staff is nice but they don't have time to chat!

  • Joe D.

Don't come for the service or if you are in a hurry. But if you like a slow, enjoyable meal with nice people and just amazing food then you should come. Portion sizes are ginormous! I love their Alfredo sauce. It is thicker than most but the flavor is rich. Cheesy garlic bread is also a great add on for your meal. I honestly have never had a bad meal here. Enjoy!

  • Linda G.

I ordered their Cobb salad it it was huge. I only finished half. My friend ordered the chicken parm and it was very good. It can in a sweet sauce. We were a little worried about leaving our dog in the car because of the neighborhood but everything was fine and our puppy enjoyed a meatball.

Best Italian and best pizza on the south side! Recommend dining in to enjoy masterful dishes right out if the oven. Large size pizzas are huge - Greek pizza is fav.

If i could rate this place with zero stars i would. While out shopping in the city and not being from the area my sister and i were looking to expand our horizons and try something off the beaten path. After reading the reviews we chose here. The waitress greeted us with a big warm smile and told us to have a seat where ever there was only one other family of 4 in the restaurant. We sat down and she came promptly got our drink order. 20 min later no drinks and she was standing in the front of the restaurant talking to a coworker the whole time. Didnt stop once to start filling up our drinks til my sister made a move to the bathroom by the time she got back we still had no drinks at the table nor had she paused to take a breath while talking to her coworker. After which fact we left. When there is only 4 people in the restaurant there is no reason after literally 20 min we still dont have drinks. Im just sorry because of this employee or for all i know owner i didnt get to form an opinion about the food myself.

The best kept secret for Italian food in OKC! Hidden away on the Southside is a delicious Italian feast just waiting for you! Beyond-generous proportions, and flavorful dishes from Italy and Greece. I recommend getting an appetizer or salad and splitting an entree. You will still have leftovers! The restaurant is small, so you might have to wait awhile, but it is well worth it!

  • Robert C.

Came here for lunch. I had the spaghetti and meatball and sampled the manicotti. It is a very unassuming place. You would probably drive right by if you didn't know it was good inside. It is owned by a Greek family from Athens and very authentic. If you go around lunch, be prepared to wait a little because it can get crowded and there is limited wait staff. The portions are very large, but they have a great lunch special. $7 gets you a main course, salad, and bread. Tough to beat that. I will be back for more.

  • Michelle B.

This is easily one of my favorite Italian restaurants ever. We lived in Norman a few years ago and my husband discovered Bella Vista on the suggestion of coworkers. This is truly a no-frills kind of restaurant. It's small and we've been there when we were the only two customers. It's a family-run place and this family can COOK! My favorite has always been the chicken parmigiana, while my husband enjoys the various pasta dishes (particularly ravioli). My kids love the calzones. When you go though, make sure you have a good amount of time. Service does tend to be a little slow, but the atmosphere is one where you're encouraged to hunker down and enjoy a fab dinner with the fam. I miss this place a lot!

  • Joshua M.

I can never really tell when they're going to be open, but when they are the food is off the charts! Salad with house dressing! Baked pasta dishes! Calzone! Pizza! It's all good. I think the owners are Greek, but this is some fantastic Italian cuisine!

  • Andrew B.

They are on vacation for the Months of July and August. They return in September. It is on the list of places for which to return. Calamari was a bit elastic. Sauce is great. I do not like red sauce. They use some cinnamon in it and it is a nice treat. Had the chicken parm. It was very good. Great Cheese. Flavors blended well. Coffee was not too good. Ray had the lasagna. I think he liked it. Way to much food for one serving so there are leftovers. Highly recommend. Call them first tho.

  • Tracy S.

I just love this place. The food is excellent and authentic!! Just DON'T take a crowd there for lunch. They run a 3 person operation and it works best with small groups of 3-4. The restaurant is small, but tasteful. It's one of those places you would never venture into by accident (my favorite kind). The lasagna is outstanding and I love the Greek Salad (careful here - you can order a side of gyro meat for the salad, but they are a bit stingy on that). The portions on everything are HUGE. If you walk away from Bella Vista hungry, then you must not like real Italian food. Bella Vista es PERFECTO! BRAVA! BELLISIMO! QUE BELLA!

The Unicorn has been captured! I have tried 5 times to eat at this restaunt and the wait was worth it. I took my girlfriend who rated against Chicago Italian food vs I who rated against New York Italian. This is the best Italian food in Oklahoma City, BY FAR. It is a mom and pop style place that has great homemade italian dishes. The owners are a Greek Family, but don't think of passing up the maranara sauce or the 17 layer Lazangna for one of the few greek items they have on the menu. The plates are huge. All of the sauces are a little sweet, with little spice to overpower the crushed tomatoes. We skipped the Tiramisu this time, but it is flown in from Chicago and looked amazing. I'm definately driving back to the South Side again for this place. (Watch out they took a 2 month trip last summer and shut down at will.)

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
